Hydroseeding and Land Reclamation Services

Hydroseeding

Hydroseeding is a process of mixing seed, fertilizer, tackifier and wood or paper fiber-mulch with water in correct proportions inside a tank, then spraying the mixture onto designated areas. PLH Erosion Control Services Inc. recommends using wood mulch, as it is a far superior product because it holds the moisture longer than paper mulch. The reason hydroseeding works so well is the seed is suspended in nutrient rich slurry. The mulch layer seals in the moisture and holds the grass seed in place and acts like a mini-greenhouse effect.

Hydroseeding provides flexibility for any project needing different varieties of grasses while at the same time being completely environmentally friendly.

Spray-on Erosion Control Blankets

There are currently several products on the market that are specially designed to eliminate the use of the old style roll out blanket, that is then stapled to the ground. A substitute spray-on erosion control blanket gives you a better result as it follows the direct contour of the land, safer to apply, and is more cost effective. Spray-on Erosion Control Blankets are an excepted equivalents, as per Alberta Infrastructure specifications.

FGM Spray-on Erosion Control Blankets

Flexible Growth Medium (FGM) is designed with blended wood fibers, crimped man-made fibers and additives that are engineered to perform under extreme conditions. FGM provides superior protection up to 18 months. This patented technology requires no cure time and provides superior slope protection. Plus, it can be combined with other erosion control technologies such as turf reinforcement mats to accommodate a broad range of conditions.

CocoFlex FGM Spray-on Erosion Control Blankets

Extended Term-Flexible Growth Medium (CocoFlex FGM) is designed with blended coconut and wood fibers, crimped interlocking man-made fibers and additives that are engineered to perform under extreme conditions. CocoFlex provides superior protection up to 24 months making it the highest performing, long-lasting hydraulically applied erosion control product on the market. This patented technology requires no cure time and provides superior slope protection. Plus, it can be combined with other erosion control technologies such as turf reinforcement mats to accommodate a broad range of conditions.

Tack Truck / Dust Control Operations

We provide tack truck and dust control operations for the pipeline construction and the oil and gas industry. Our equipment is designed to spray, with precise accurate results, all types of soil stabilizers and tacking agents in order to stop erosion and dust control for topsoil piles, coke piles, etc. Our services ensure environmental footprints are minimized and health and safety guidelines are being provided for air quality and project visibility.

Commercial Landscaping

PLH Erosion Control Services provides all services pertaining to earthworks for commercial landscaping from hauling, grading, large topsoil placement, hydroseeding, weed control and turf maintenance services.

Land Reclamation

Throughout the years we have done many land reclamation projects. PLH Erosion Control Services have hydroseeded riverbanks, plant site service roads, and oil pad leases to project rite of ways. We can use any type of native grasses to mimic the surrounding area, ensuring that environmentally friendly products like organic fertilizers and hydroseeding mulches are being used in the most sensitive environmental areas.

Fire Control

Our equipment has been used to control brush fires, forest fires and perimeter fire control. We have worked alongside local fire departments as well as SRD (Sustainable Resources Department) pumping water for long distances and filling bladders to control and extinguish hot spots. Our standby fire control services are also available to insure a safe workplace and to minimize liabilities.
